Terms of Use

Welcome to Savings Goal, an application and website provided by Joda Software (“we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Savings Goal mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By downloading, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.
About Savings Goal
Savings Goal helps you create savings goals, track deposits and withdrawals, set reminders, sync goals to your account, and collaborate with invited users on shared goals.
Savings Goal is a tracking and planning tool only. It is not a bank, financial institution, investment adviser, credit provider, payment service, or money transfer service.
No Financial Advice
The Services are provided for general information, organization, and personal tracking. We do not provide financial, tax, legal, investment, or budgeting advice.
You are responsible for your own financial decisions. Any amounts, balances, projections, reminders, or progress indicators shown in the app are based on information you enter or sync and may not reflect your actual bank balance or financial position.
Your Account
You may use some features locally without creating an account. Account features, including account sync, collaboration, profile information, and cross-device access, require you to sign in.
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for all activity that occurs through your account. You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account information up to date.
Local and Account Goals
Local goals are stored on your device and may be lost if you delete the app, clear device data, lose access to your device, or fail to back up your device.
Account goals are stored using cloud services so they can sync across your devices and support collaboration features. Sync availability depends on network access, service availability, and correct account authentication.
You are responsible for checking that your goals, transactions, reminders, and account state are accurate.
Shared Goals and Collaboration
If you invite other users to collaborate on a goal, or accept an invitation from another user, certain goal information may be visible to collaborators. This may include goal names, amounts, progress, transactions, activity, collaborator names, profile photos, roles, and related metadata.
Goal owners are responsible for managing collaborators and access levels. Collaborators are responsible for using shared goal information respectfully and only for the purpose for which access was granted.
We may limit the number of collaborators on a goal, restrict invitations, or remove access where necessary to protect the Services, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations.
User Content
You retain ownership of the information, images, goal details, profile details, notes, and other content you submit to the Services (“User Content”).
You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, display, transmit, and otherwise use your User Content as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Services.
You must not upload or share User Content that is unlawful, harmful, abusive, defamatory, invasive of privacy, infringing, misleading, or otherwise inappropriate.
Photos, Icons, and Third-Party Content
The Services may allow you to upload images, use your camera or photo library, select app-provided icons, or choose images from third-party providers such as Unsplash.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to use any image or content you upload or select. Third-party images, links, attribution, and services are subject to the relevant third party’s own terms and policies.
Reminders and Notifications
The Services may allow you to schedule reminders and receive push notifications. Notifications are provided for convenience only and may be delayed, fail to deliver, or not appear because of device settings, network conditions, operating system behavior, or service availability.
You remain responsible for monitoring your goals and financial activity even if a reminder or notification is not delivered.
Purchases, Subscriptions, and Ads
The Services may include advertising and optional paid features, including purchases that remove advertisements or unlock additional functionality.
Purchases made through Apple’s App Store or Google Play are processed by the relevant store provider and are subject to that provider’s terms, payment rules, cancellation rules, and refund policies.
We may use purchase status information from store providers or subscription management providers to determine whether paid features should be enabled in the app.
Unless stated otherwise, paid features do not include banking, financial advice, investment advice, or any guarantee that the Services will be available without interruption.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or abusive purposes
- Attempt to access another user’s account, goals, invites, or data without permission
- Interfere with or disrupt the Services, servers, networks, or security systems
- Reverse engineer, copy, modify, sell, or redistribute the app except where permitted by law
- Upload malicious code, spam, misleading content, or content that infringes another person’s rights
- Use collaboration, invite, feedback, or support features to harass, threaten, impersonate, or abuse others
- Misuse ads, rewards, purchases, or technical systems to obtain benefits dishonestly
Third-Party Services
The Services rely on or integrate with third-party services, including app stores, authentication providers, cloud hosting, analytics, crash reporting, advertising, subscription management, image providers, and email or support tools.
Third-party services are not controlled by us. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, accuracy, security, or practices. Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
App Store Terms
If you downloaded the app from Apple’s App Store, your use of the app is also subject to Apple’s applicable terms, including Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement unless a separate agreement applies.
If you downloaded the app from Google Play, your use of Google Play and purchases made through Google Play are also subject to Google Play’s applicable terms.
Availability and Changes
We may update, improve, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time. We may also release updates that are required for continued use, security, compatibility, or legal compliance.
We do not guarantee that the Services will always be available, error-free, secure, or compatible with every device, operating system, region, or third-party service.
Account Deletion and Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. You may also request deletion of your account and associated data where available in the app or by contacting us.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk or possible legal exposure, misused the Services, or used the Services in a way that may harm us, other users, or third parties.
Some information may be retained where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, backup integrity, or legitimate business purposes.
Intellectual Property
The Services, including the app, website, software, design, branding, text, graphics, icons, and other materials, are owned by Joda Software or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
Except for the limited right to use the Services under these Terms, no rights are transferred to you.
Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.
We do not warrant that the Services will meet your requirements, be uninterrupted, be error-free, be secure, or that any data, balances, reminders, sync state, or calculations will always be accurate or available.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Joda Software will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising from or related to your use of the Services.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
Indemnity
You agree to be responsible for claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Services, your User Content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s rights, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where applicable consumer protection laws require another governing law or forum.
If you are a consumer, you may also have rights under the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the app, website, or other appropriate means. The updated version will include a revised “Effective Date.”
Your continued use of the Services after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
